Anti-Obama Media Bias? Liberal Media Bias Not Quite

Liberal writers are zeroing in on a new study from Pew's Project for Excellence in Journalism that found Barack Obama has been subjected to far more "negative" coverage than any of the Republican presidential candidates. The graphic accompanying the study is dramatic:.

Slam dunk!

One of Eric Boehlert's blog items at Media Matters is headlined "So Much for the Liberal Media."

In this graphic only Newt Gringrich has a more negative number than President Obama - and THAT by only one percentage point.  The next closest people is Mitt Romney and he is 7 percentage points less negative than Mr. Obama, and Rick Santorum and he is 8 percentage points less negative.  However looking at the positive numbers of Mr. Obama, he is 3 percentage points less than the next guy (Rick Pawlenty) and he dropped out of the race.  

The next closest to Mr. Obama again is New Gringrich and this philanderers positive numbers are 6 percentage points better than Mr. Obamas'.  Now what did Newt do that his numbers should be 6 points higher than the Presidents.  Newt didn't get bin Laden.  Newt didn't want to help out in getting Kadafi.  Newt didn't stop the "Underware Bomber" or get any of the top guys over at al quaeda.  Instead he cheated on two wives - and one he served divorce papers to while she lay on her hospital bed fighting cancer.  He got caught with his hand in the till so to speak and was forced to resign as Speaker of the House.  He didn't get reelected after that.  He's been wrong on every foreign policy issue that has presented itself during the Obama Administration.  So can someone please tell me why Newt deserves 6 more positive percentage points than the President?
